Skins That Can’t Be Found in theFortnite Item Shop

Starting the year with the bag, Fortnite Crew subscribers have something special to look forward to for January.

There’s nothing like new skins to start the year off on the right foot. Epic Games has announced the details for January’s Fortnite Crew subscription which includes monthly free rewards like V-Bucks and an exclusive skin that’s not available in the Fortnite Item Shop. For January 2022, they’ve confirmed the return of Snow Stealth Slone, a Fortnite villain and an IO higher-up. The trailer for the January 2022 Crew Pack was actually leaked earlier in December 2021, and while the Crew Pack has already been released on December 31, it’s still worth looking into – especially for those who are thinking of getting the subscription.

What’s In the Pack?

In the January 2022 Fortnite Crew Pack, you can expect a bunch of new skins that can’t be found in theFortnite Item Shop. For starters, there’s Doctor Slone who’s already made an appearance before, but this time, she’s fashioning a new winter IO uniform. Along with the skin, there’s also the Snow Stealth Wrap, the Snow Stealth Hardcase Back Bling, and the Sleet Spike Pickaxe. Doctor Slone also gets an alternative shading to her uniform called the Winter Sunset Style which gives some color to the snowy look of the Snow Stealth Slone skin. This pack of information was already leaked beforehand – on December 15, to be specific, by iFireMonkey, a prominent Fortnite leaker on Twitter. Still, though, it’s interesting to see that Doctor Slone is the first exclusive skin for the Fortnite Crew, following the Cube Assassin Skin from December’s exclusive.

As if that wasn’t enough, Fortnite Crew members will also receive the Golden Look Board Glider as a bonus if they manage to log into the Fortnite Winterfest event that goes until January 6. The design of the board takes its inspiration from the Tier 100 Legendary skin Midas, a villain that first appeared in the Fortnite’s Chapter 2: Season 2 Battle Pass.

Extra Goodies Galore

You know what’s better than getting cool goodies? Getting extra ones for free! Fortnite Crew members will also receive the Golden Look Board Glider as a bonus if they manage to log into the Fortnite Winterfest event that goes until January 6. The design of the board takes its inspiration from the Tier 100 Legendary skin Midas, a villain that first appearance in Fortnite’s Chapter 2: Season 2 Battle Pass.

As if that wasn’t enough, players that managed to join the game before the end of 2021 and signed up for the Fortnite Crew subscripted before the year ended are eligible to receive the legendary Protocol Pack Back Bling. Back Blings are accessories that you put on your character’s back, and while they offer a bit of pizzazz, they don’t have that same oomph as an actual skin. The Protocol Pack Back Bling offers much more than your typical accessory; it’s an evolving piece that has different stages/styles as the subscription continues.

Is the Fortnite Crew Subscription Worth Getting?

The price of the Fortnite Crew subscription is $11.99 or your region equivalent (refer to the Fortnite Pricing Alignments FAQ page to know more). For your money, you get 1,000 V-Bucks every month, the Battle Pass for every season (as long as your subscription is active), and exclusive skins that can’t be found anywhere else. For the Chapter 3: Season 1 Battle Pass, you can get iconic characters like The Foundation who’s based on Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Spider-Man. The Battle Pass itself already costs almost the same as the subscription (1,500 V-Bucks), and best of all, you get to keep all of the skins that you earn before the season ends!

If you’re the type of person that loves to collect skins in Fortnite and actively plays the game, then getting the Fortnite Crew subscription is a no-brainer. Should you choose to cancel your subscription and you’re worried about the exclusive skins that you’ve accumulated will be removed, have no fear! All of the items/skins you’ve gotten from the Fortnite Crew subscription will only be removed when you opt for a refund, otherwise, it’s all yours to keep!

Closing Remarks

The January 2022 Crew Pack is an interesting one, to say the least. Slone is an interesting character in Fortnite – there are even theories being sparked across the fandom. With every reveal that they’ve made so far, Epic Games ceases to impress us, whether it’s leaked or officially announced. Players can expect new things to look forward to for the battle royale in 2022, as surely there are more skins and crossovers to be released in the Crew Pack andFortnite Item Shop in the future.
